Information

While the prices of memory foam mattresses may have come down a lot in recent years, the Essentials collection from the Memory Foam Warehouse aims to show just how highly affordable a perfectly decent memory foam mattress can be. The Essentials 500 mattress has a medium firm  rating, usually indication of a high quality mattress with a good level of support, and features an adequate 5cm thick layer of memory foam.

It’s no secret that the Essentials 500 is a budget mattress and although highly economical, it does fall short of some of the more expensive options in certain fields. The density of the memory foam used is usually a surefire way to ascertain the quality of the mattress and the Essentials 500 has a density of just 40kg/m³ which is lower that CoolMax‘s 50kg/m³ and far lower than Tempur‘s 85kg/m³. A less dense memory foam on one hand may feel softer or spongier than an HD foam but it doesn’t soften when exposed to the heat of your body to form a mould in the way that visco-elastic memory foam is supposed to. Also, as one of the cheapest memory foam mattress ranges, it only benefits from a 12 month warranty.

As the Essentials 500 mattress from the Memory Foam Warehouse has a total depth of 20cm, that means a 15cm thick reflex foam base which provides most of the support and is far sturdier than memory foam. The use of foam throughout this mattress makes it hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites. The zipped cover provided with this mattress as poly-cotton and can be easily removed for washing.
